No. 8.26090/2 of the 1st of May about telegram No. CA 3435 of the 17th April from the Commander- in-chief, Hong Hong, regarding the need to rehabilitate the civil airport at Kai Tak.
As you are aware, the Joint Binistry of Civil Aviation/Air Ministry Mission which recently visited Hong Kong decided that the only possible site for an international airport was at Deep Boy, the cost of which was of the nature of 54 million and the time required for completion some thirty months. It has not yet been possible to reach a decision on the question of the construction of such an irport in Hong Kong, but even if it is decided to proceed with its construction, there nevertheless ramins the nood for rehabilitating Kai Tak to auch a degree that it em nocept the nir survious which are likely to bo oporated into Hong Kong in the future. These eir services include services operated by the Chinese corporations C.4.1.C. und V.ll.n.C., a
