Dear Miss Holdgate,

You will already have seen

4/7/46 (46A) telegram No. 353 from Hong Kong about

ENCLOSURES

FURTHER ACTION

opy to:

r.3.R.Cousins,

the desire of Australian National Airways to extend their Australia/ Manila scheduled air service to Hong Kong.

We have now received a further telegram from Hong Kong, (51) No. 457, which is in reply to the (17/50) Secretary of State's telegram No. 380.

We consider it would be of the greatest valuo if a direct service could be established betwean Australia and Hong Kong, particularly in view of the desire of the Government of Hong Kong that such a service should be begun at the earliest possible date.

We are thorefore anxious that the necessary formalities should be completed as soon as possible, and we should be glad of any assistance you

To

M.C.A.

MISS M.B. HOLIGATE.
