It is hereby notified that Sealed Tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for 'Back-filling' of Japanese Tunnels at East Point Hill, IL. 29" will be received at the office of the Chairman, Tender Board, Public Works Branch, Civil Affairs Headquarters, from authorised Contractors, until noon on Friday, 12th April, 1946, for the supply of labour and materials to carry out "Back-filling Works, etc." at Japanese Tunnels located at East Point Hill, IL. 29, Hennessy Road, Hong Kong, as per specification.

Tenderers must attach to each tender a receipt that they have deposited at the Treasury, Prince's Building, Des Voeux Road, the sum of Dollars One Hundred ($100.00) as a pledge of the bona fides of their tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Administration, if any tenderer fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should such tender be accepted.

Successful tenderers will be required to deposit with the Treasury the sum prescribed in the respective Forms of Tender as security for the due and faithful per- formance of the contract.

Forms of Tender, specification and further particulars may be obtained from S.O. I C.A. Works, Port Works/Airport/Tunnels Branch, 2nd floor, St. George's Building, Chater Road.

The Administration does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender, and reserves the right to accept all or any part of each tender.

MEDICAL BRANCH,

TENDERS FOR LAUNDRY SERVICE.

It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate which should be clearly marked "Tender for Laundry Service for Medical Branch" will be received at the office of the Chairman, Tender Board, Public Works Branch, Civil Affairs Headquar- ters, until noon of Friday, the 12th April, 1946, for laundry services for all hospitals under the Civil Affairs Administration, for a period of three months from 1st May, 1946 to 31st July, 1946.

Tenderers should give a flat rate price for each article of clothing irrespective of its size or quality, and for each blanket. Such laundry service shall include trans- portation in the collection from and delivery to all C.A.A. hospitals and institutions in Hong Kong and Kowloon and New Kowloon (excluding New Territories).

Tenderers should state the place or places at which the laundry work will be carried out.

No tender will be considered, unless the person tendering_attaches thereto a re- ceipt to the effect that he has deposited with the Treasury, Prince's Building, Des Voeux Road Central, the sum of $250 as a pledge of the "bona fides" of his tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Administration if such person fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should such tender be accepted. The sum deposited shall be re- turned to any tenderer whose tender is not accepted and to the successful tenderer when the contract has been completed.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract containing conditions to be prescribed by the Medical Branch, and also to give security by deposit- ing a further sum of $500 with the Treasury as security for the due fulfilment of the contract.

Any further particulars required may be obtained from the Secretary, Medical Branch, Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank Building, 1st floor.

The Administration does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender, and reserves to itself the right of accepting all or any part of each tender.
