This Ordinance follows the draft which was sent under cover of the despatch at No. 50, the only difference being the insertion of the date 25th December, 1941, in Section 2, in place of 1st January,
1942, (see paragraph 4 of our despatch at 50). I suggest, therefore, that subject to any observations of the Legal Advisers and Eastern Department, non-disallowance may be signified.

Copies of the Ordinance should also be sent for information to Mr. Norman Young (Treasury), and Mr. C.E. Loombes (Bank of England), and it would be useful for a copy to be placed on file 55116 containing the Ordinance amending the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ordinance, and on the file containing the Hong Kong Currency Ordinance, 1935, and amendments thereto.
