Thank you for your letter of 12th January concerning the arrangements for the command of the
forces
of the three Services in Hong Kong on the resumption of the Civil Administration.
On the assumption that your Department will agree the proposals put forward in the letter from Cash to Lloyd dated 18th January (a copy of which I enolose) I presume you will now make the approach to the Chiefs of Staff as proposed in your letter with which I am in full agreement.
This now becomes a matter of some urgenoy in view of HQ ALFSEA's telegram 1404/Ops of 16 January (copy attached), para Fourth, D.
