GOVERNMENT HOUSES, 1939.
HOUSES OCCUPIED AS RESIDENCES BY THE GOVERNOR,
1. Government House, Victoria, contains:-
Ground Floor-Entrance hall, dining-room 40′ × 25', drawing-room! 40′ × 25′′ billiard-room, ball-roem, 74' x 40', two lounge-halls 30′ × 19′ and 46′ ×° 22′, small winter- garden, offices of Governor, A.D.C., private secretary, custodian, stenographers, and clerks, Ïadies cloak-room,

Semi-basement-Large and small supper-rooms 39' x 38' and 24′ x 21', A.D.C.'s and private secretary's bed-sitting rooms and bathrooms.
First Floor-Four double bedrooms and one single with bathrooms, single bedroom dressing-room, bathroom, box-room, boudoir, roof-garden.
Usual offices, servants' quarters and laundry.
Garage block containing married quarters for custodian and one chauffeur, servants, quarters, chauffeur's bedroom, and store, accommodation for five to six cars,
Stable block with accommodation for three grooms and three horses.
Guard house with accommodation for five.
The house is heated by coal fires, electricity and gas, and lighted by electricity. The cost of the electric light for the first floor and of half the kitchen coal is borne by the Governor, the remainder by the Government.
Furniture, including plate, linen, crockery and glass is supplied by the Government. There are about 5 acres of garden maintained by the Government.
2. Mountain Lodge, The Peak, a hill residence at 1,685 feet above sea level, occupied during the summer months, contains:-
Ground Floor-Dining-room 33′ x 17', drawing-room 33' x 17', boudoir, offices of Governor, A.D.C., private secretary, stenographers, and clerk, kitchen and pantries.
First Floor-Four double bedrooms and three single with bathrooms, one single bedroom, two dressing-rooms, two bath-rooms, three drying rooins.
Servants' block, including servants' kitchens, coolies' quarters, laundry, store room for sedan chairs, and gardeners' quarters.
Garage block with accommodation for three cars and one chauffeur.
Guard-house with accommodation for three.

Furniture, including plate, linen, crockery and glass, is supplied by the Government.
There are about forty three acres of grounds, including about two and a half acres of garden, all maintained by the Government.
3. Fanling Lodge, Sheung Shui, a country residence, situated in the middle of Fanling Golf Course, contains:—
Ground Floor-Dining-room 28′ × 17', drawing-room 33' x 18', offices of Governor and personal staff.
First Floor-Three double bedrooms with bathrooms, two single bedrooms, one bathroom. Kitchen block containing servants' quarters, boiler-room, coal-house, sture and usual offices. Garage block containing store and bedrooms for two chauffeurs.
