SURVEY OF STEAMSHIPS:

(j) If a ship is being transferred from British to foreign registry, details of the British tonnage calculation may be supplied for the guidance of the foreign Customs Authorities on payment of a fee of $7.50 per sheet subject to a minimum of $30.
(4) The fee paid in accordance with Scale A covers any number of visits that the Surveyor may find it necessary to make before he is able to complete the measurement for tonnage and grant his certificate to enable a ship to be registered. It also covers the inspection of crew spaces and lights and sound signals, if the Surveyor is able to make these inspections at the same time as the measurement for tonnage but not otherwise. For any further visits necessary for the com-| pletion of inspection of crew spaces and lights and sound signals, additional fees, are to be charged in accordance with Regulations 9 and 11 respectively.
(1) The fee for the inspection of minor alterations (e.g., of rig, engines,etc.)is $15.

(2) Variations of standard fees :—
(a) Annual survey carried through in one operation :
For every annual survey of any ship over 500 tons felassed or unclassed) which is carried through in one operation there shall be paid-
(i) the standard fee; and
(ii) in addition. a single fee of $24 if, for the purposes of the survey, more than one visit is paid to the ship by the surveyor
(b) Annual survey not carried through in one operation:
For every annual survey of any ship (classed or unclassed) which is not carried through in one operation there shall be paid-
(i) the standard fee;
(ii) in addition, a fee of $24 for every partial annual survey; and (i) for any ship over 500 tons, in addition, a single fee of $24 for every partial annual survey in respect of which, for the purposes of the partial annual survey, more than one visit is paid to the ship by the surveyor.
