Survey of Steamships :—

The fee for a passenger certificate is apportioned as follows:-

(6) For a certificate for less than 12 months, one-twelfth of the full fee will be charged for each month of the period of the certificate but no fee is to be less than three-twelfths of the full fee or $10 whichever is the greater.

(b) (7) An ordinary survey is one which does not involve more than two visits by a Surveyor.

(i) If more than two visits are necessary or in cases where owing to age or any other circumstances there are reasonable grounds for doubting the seawor- thiness of the ship the survey is deemed to be of a special character.

(e) An emigration licence is only granted to a ship which holds a valid Hongl Kong Foreign-going passenger certificate or its accepted equivalent. If the surveys for passenger certificate and emigration licence (or licences) are held simultaneously only one half of the above fee for an ordinary survey is to be charged for the latter in addition to the fee for

passenger certificate.

(d) The appropriate fee will cover the survey of the ship and her equipments, including lights and sound signals; accommodation; distilling apparatus; stores; and lighting, ventilating and sanitary arrangements, but it will not cover the survey for a passenger certificate; measurement for tonnage; survey for loadline or inspection of crew spaces.
