MEDICAL TREATMENT :→
Proprietary medicines or drugs not contained in the British Pharmacopoeia will be charged for if supplied by the Government, Private patients, other than Govern- ment. Naval, Military, or Air Force patients, charged 1st or 2nd class daily rates for maintenance, will be subjeer to the following additional charges :-
(1) For medical attendance, a charge at the rate of one third of the rate for
maintenance,
(2) For Surgical operations:-
Major operatious—850 (minimum) to $600 (maximum) at the discretion
of the Director of Medical Services. ·
Minor operations-$25 (minimum) to $100 (maximum) at the discretion of the Director of Medical Services.
This charge will be in addition to the above charge for medical atten-
dance.
(3) For normal maternity cases, charges of $200 and $100 respectively, in
lien of the above charge for medical attendance.
Patients requiring a “ Special” nurse will pay an additional eborge of $14 a day,
The Director of Medical Services has discretionary power to waive the additional charges.
Private patients in Government Hospitals other than the Maternity Wards at the Queen Mary and Kowloon Hospitals will be attended by Government Medical Officers.
If in the case of a private patient charged 1st or 2ul class daily rates the Consult- ing Physician, Surgeon or Obstetrician is called in, either at the request of the patient or by arrangement between the patient and the Medical Officer, the amount of the consultant's foe shall be a sum not exceeding $50. -
Certificates.—A charge of $10 is made for all certificates in connection with the fituess or ulituess of patients or others to perform their duty and for invaliding certificate, and $10 for certificates required by insurance companies, etc.
A clurge of $5.00 per drum is made for sterilization of sheets, gowns, etc., for emergency operations for ships.

The scale of charges for maintenance and medical treatment in the Government Hospital known as the TSAN YEK HOSPITAL
will be as follows:-

Children under twelve years of age are charged at half the foregoing rates in each class.
