SPRVEY OF STEAMSHIPS :—
(e) If a trawler or drifter, built and measured for the Admiralty, is trans- ferred to private owners and is being registered under Part 1 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894 and alterations are found to have been made affecting the tonnage, the fee is to be charged in accordance with Scale A. If no alterations have been made, a fee of $7,50 only is to be charged for the visit to the ship and the issue of the necessary papers to the Registrar of Shipping at the intended port of registry.
(7) If the owners of a foreign ship apply for the renewal of a certificate of British Tonnage, the principal dimensions are to be re-tried, and, if they are found to agree with the certificate, a foe of 230 only is to be charged for the issue of the new certificate.
If the dimensions do not practically agree with the certificate of tonnage, the ship must be re-measured throughout under Rule I or II, as the case may be, and the appropriate fee charged.

(7) The fee for a copy of the Certificate of British Tonnage is $7.50.
(4) When application is made for the issue or amendment of a “Suez Canal” “Panama Canal” Special Tomage Certificate, a fee of two-fifths of the full] tonnage fee is to be charged for each certifiente whether the measurement is made at the same time as the measurement for British registry or not. This fee includes, re-measurement of British tommage (except underdeck) il made at the same time, Certified copies of Suez Canal or Panaina Canal certificate will he issued on payment of $7.50 for each copy.
(4) If a foreign ship, originally registered as a British ship, is subsequently! brought forward for registry, a fee of $30 only is to be charged if, on comparison, the principal dimensions are found to agree with the original tonnage measurements, If, however, they do not agree and the ship has to be measured throughout, the full fee is to be charged. If the underdeck tomage is found to agree and other items differ, then, in addition to the $30 fee for check measurement, further fees; are to be charged for these items in accordance with the foregoing.
(j). If a ship is being transferred from British to foreign registry, details of the British tonnage calculation may be supplied for the guidance of the foreign Ordinance 10 of 1899, Customs Authorities on payment of a fee of $7.50 per sheet subject to a minimum. of $30.
(4) The fee paid in accordance with Scale A covers any number of visits that the Surveyor may
find it necessary to make before he is able to complete the measurement for fonnage and gram his certificate to enable a ship to he registered. It also covers the inspection of crew spaces and lights and sound signals, if the Surveyor is able to make these inspections at the same time as the measurement for tonnage but not otherwise, For any further visits necessary for the com- pletion of inspection of crew spaces and lights and sound signals, additional fees are to be charged in accordance with Regulations 9 and 11 respectively,
(4) The fee for the inspection of minor alterations (eg., of rig, engines,etc.)is $15.
