Imports totalled $81,000 as compared with $311,000, and exports $1.2 millions as compared with

$1.1 millions,

TOBACCO.

Imports totulled $5.9 millions as compared with $5.9 millions, and exports $4.3 millions as compared

with $3.2 millions.

Imports of Cigarettes totalled 1.9 million lbs. (82.8 millions) as compared with 1.9 million lbs. ($2.7 millions), and exports 2.3 million lbs. ($2.4 millions) as compared with 1.9 million lbs. ($2,00 millions). Imports from the United Kingdom increased from 339,000 lbs. to 410,00) lbs., and U.S.A. from 85,000 lbs. to 49,000 lbs. The bulk of the supplies was imported from North China, amounting to 1.4 million lbs. as compared with the same figure for the previous year.

Imports of Foreign Prepared Tobacco increased from 20,606 lbs. ($60,000) to 30,302 lbs. ($96,000^), the U.S.A. product increasing from 8,800 lbs. to 14.600 Jbs.

Imports of Raw Tobacco decreased from 7.1 million lbs. ($2.3 millions) to 6.6 million lbs. (82.3 millions), the larger part being imported from China and U.S.A.

VEHICLES.

Timports totalled $6.6 milions as compared with $3.9 millions, and exports $8.0 millions as compared. with $8.1 millions.

Imports of Bicycles and Tricycles increased from $386,000 to $448,000, the Japanese share increasing from $176,000 to $318,000, and the United Kingdem share decreasing from $191,000 to $98.000.

limports of Motor Cars totalled 490 cars valued at $1.2 millious as compared with 689 cars valued ut $1.1 millions. Imports from the United Kingdom decreased from 337 cars valued at $528,000 to 177 curs valued at $398,6081; Canada from 159 cars ($237,000 to 118 enrs ($23,000); and U.S.A. from 170 cars ($296,000) to 150 cars ($870,000).

Imports of Motor Lorry Chassis totalled 373 ($682.000) as compared with 546 ($877,000); 239 lorries being imported from U.S.A. as compared with 845 lorries.

Imports of Motor Accessories ipercased from $576,060 to $602,000.

WEARING APPAREL.

Imports totalled $4.1 millions as compared with 83,6 millions, and exports $12.6 millions as com- pared with $6.2 millions.

Exports of Roots and Shows (Canvas and Rubber) nacreused from $2.2 millious to $4.1 millions, the United Kingdom tuking $2.4 millions as compared with $1.2 millions, and the British West Indies $1.1 mullious as compared with $574,000). Imports from Japan totalied $710,000) as compared with 8800,000.

Imports of Hats and Caps (Foreign) increased from $306,000 to $435,000, the Japanese article Increasing from $191.000 to $317.000, Exports increased from $200,000 to $671,000, largely on account of sluptments valued at $130,000 being sent to Burma as compared with $37,000,

Exports of Hosiery (other than Sill increased from $353,000 to $730,000, the British West Indies taking $236,000 as compared with $129,000 and South America $83,000 as compared with $10,000.

Exports of Shirts increased from $138,000 to $1.0 million, the British West Indies and the Nether- laude East Indies taking the bulk of the supply.

Exports of Singlets increased from $2.3 millions to 53.4 millions, British Malaya taking $1.5 millions as compared with $959,000.

SUNDRIES.

Imports of some 167 items of Sundries totalled $57.6 millions as compared with $43.1 millions, aud exporta $51.9 millions as compared with $37.4 millions.

Imports of Gunny Bags totalled 9.5 million pieces ($2.8 millions) as compared with 10.3 million pieces ($2.6 millions) and exports 13.2 million pieces ($4.1 millions) as compared with 13.0 million pieces ($3.2 millions).

Imports of Cosmetics and Perfumery increased from $596,000 to $808,000, U.S.A. products being valued at $153,000 as compared with $95,000.

Exports of Electric Torches (Flashlight) increased from $15 millions to $2.9 millions, there being increased exports to Indin, British Malaya, the Netherlands East Indies, Australia and Burna.
