Mr. Cheung Lo Kau of the Chinese Y.M.C.A. gives religious instruction every Wednesday. The two Probation Officers also give one hour's instruction weekly.
75 boys, on two months detention or over, were instructed in rattan work, a Rattan Instructor
being attached to the Home.
3. Reading and writing are taught in the School.

Staff.
The two Probation Officers are mainly engaged in making enquiries about boys on remand and
visiting boys on probation. They report personally to the Magistrates.
2. One Chinese Police Lance Sergeant and 9 Constables are attached to the Home to escort the
boys to and from the Courts. They also look after the boys and help to teach in the School.
Sickness.
30 boys were admitted to the Government Civil Hospital.
50 boys were treated for scabies in the Home: other boys were treated for minor ailments.
