Rest of GOVERNMENT PROPERTY, LAND, AND HOUSES, —Continued. SLAUGHTER-DOUSES :—

Sole privilege of slaughtering animals for the food of man within any part of Sai Wan Ho and Aberdeen granted by Teuter for one year from 1st January to 31st December, 1932, for £3,864 and $2.064 respectively.

Sole privilege of the daily collection and removal of blood and hair from the Slaughter-houses situated at Kennedy Town in the City of Victoria and at Ma Tau Kok in Kowloon granted by Tender for one year from 1st January to 31st December, 1932, for $11,040 and $3,756 respectively, Depôts for Cattle, Pigs, Sheep and Goats at Kennedy Town and Ma Tau Kok:- The fee payable for encl hond of cattle housed in a Depôt shall be sixty cents when cattle so housed are removed to any place other than the Slaughter-house adjoining such Depôt or another Depôt, and the fee payable for each pig similarly housed and removed shall be forty cents and for each sheep and goat similarly housed and removed shall be thirty-five cents. No fee is payable on admission.

INTEREST.

On Fixed Deposits in Local Banks at current rate, as also the Interest allowed by the Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation on Current Deposit Accounts, at the rate of 1 per cent. per annum on the daily balance to credit of Government.

The Hong Kong Tramway Company, Limited, shall pay to the Government

the following Royalties, that is to say:-

(a.) From 22nd September, 1914, for the period of twenty-five years, a Royalty amounting to five per cent, per annum of the profits of the Company.

(b.) After the said period of twenty-five years (22nd September, 1939) has expired and for so long as the Company shall exercise their said rights, powers and authorities a Royalty amounting to twenty-five per cent. per annum of the profits of the Company.

For the purpose of this section profits shall be the gross takings of the Company less working expenses, and such working expeuses shall not be deemed to include any interest or dividends upon any moneys borrowed for the purposes of the Company.
