(b) The above senly is for twelve months. For six mouths six twelfths of the fee will be charged, for nine anouths nine-twelfths, and so on, at thọ rate of one-twelfth for each month; but no foe is to be less in umonut than three-twelfths, In all cases of new steam-ships, or af steam-ships coming under survey for a Passenger Certificato for the first time, a full twelve months' fee must be paid, not withstanding that a Certificate for twelve months may not be required, and in un case of an incomplete declaration will loss than three-twelfths bo charged.

a) The fee paid in accordance with the foregoing scale covers any wumber of visits that a Surveyor may require to make before he is able to grant his declaration, as well as the inspection of the lights and fog siguals and of the marking of the rossel, which inspection must be made by the Surveyor before he can grant his declaration. The fee does unt, however, apply to or include any inspection of lights, fog signals, or marking, wunde subsequently to the granting of the declaration.

(d) The above fee does not cover any sorvier under the Chinese Passengers' Act, 1855, or the Asintic Emigration Ordinance, 1913, or measurement for tonuage,

(b) A special survey is to bo deemed to lie a survey requiring more than two vixits by a Government Surveyor ar Surveyors, or a survey in enses in which from age or any other circumstances there are reasonable gronds for doubting the seu- worthiness of the vessel. Where the ense requires unusual attention and occupies

■u unusual amount of the Surveyor's tune, the higher fee of $60 and upwards will be charged, according to the special circumstances of the ease and the number of visits made.

(e) Where a declaration has been granted for a Steamship under Section 10 (8) of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance 1899, the survey under the Chiuose Pussongers' Act 1855 or the Asintic Emigration Ordinance 1915 will be sunde on paymont of half the usual fee mentioned above. The fee paid in accordance with the above scale covers the inspection of the lights and fog signals, and of the marking of the vessel, made at the time of survey under the Chinese Passengers Aot 1855 or the Asiatic Emigration Ordinance, "1915. It does not, however, apply to, or include, any inspection of lights, fog signals, or marking, mado subsequently to such survey.

(d) The fee for survey under the said Art or Ordinnuse does not cover any survey of a Steumship for à Pusseuger Cortificate mulder this Ordinanes, or mensure- ment for tonnage, or inspection of crew spaces.

(e) Travelling expenses (if any) and subsistence exponaos (if any) due acoording to the scale authorised by the Governor, will be charged in addition to the fees.
