The diets of prisoners in Victoria Gaol are in accordance with the following Rules and Regulations :—

INGREDIENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS.
(EUROPEAN DIETS.)
Ench pint to contain 3 ounces meat without bone; one ounce ouious; one ounce.
barley; 4 ounces Greens, yams, sweet potatoes or taro; with pepper and salt.
Each pint to contain 2 ounces oatmeal; one ounce molasses; with salt,
To every pound 11⁄2 ounces suet; 63 ounces flour ; 8 ounces water.
Each pint to contain ounce flake cocou or sibs ; one ounce molasses or sugar. Each pint to coutain ounce tea; ounce sugar.
Chillies 3 drs., pepper 14 drs,, turmeric dr., corcamder sced † dr., cnmmin seed † dr.
and oil oz.
Note.—A European prisoner sentenced to imprisonment for two years and upwards, and in the First Class under the progressive stage system, shall be allowed 8 oz. of chicken for dinner où Sundays, in addition to the proscribed diet.
