(7) Transferred to Treasury on 1st July. (8) Allowance for extra work on the arrival of an English or French Mail from Europe, and of a Canadian or United Stales Mail on a Sunday, on the following scale :-

Salary $1,200 and upwards, $3 per mail; £600 and under $1,200, $2 per mail; fi80 and under $600, $1 per mail.

The allowance is doubled in the case of an English
