REMARKS.

() Mr. M. J. Broen acted as Assistant Postmaster General from 16th October to 31st December and drew an allowance of $50 per mensem from the lapsing half-pay of l'ostumster General and full pay as Passed Cadet.

(3) Allowance for extra work on the arrival of an English or French Mail from Europe, and of a Canadian or United States Mall on a Sunday, on the following scale :—

Salary $1,200 and upwards. $3 per Mail : $600 and under $1,200, $ 2 per nwill : 1480 and under $600, $1 per mail, The allowance is doubled in the case of an English or

French Mail arriving on a Sunday or holiday.

(4) Allowances for attendance ou a Sunday or holiday are granteì to Officers attending at the General Öffne at the rates of $3, $2 and $1 per diem according to seniority; Officers attending at the Kowloon Branch Office receive $1 per diem.
