The Chinese inhabitants contribute, by a voluntary assessment among themselves, to the pay of District Watchmen. They contributed for the year 1911........

The Governor appoints to the office of Watchmen such fit persons as he may consider to be sufficiently recommended by the inhabitants of auy District, under the provisions of Ordinance 3 of 1888.

Inscribed Stock at 3% interest £341,799. 15%. 1d. for Praya Reclaination; Central Market; Water, Drainage and Sewerage Works, &c., to be paid off on 15th April, 1943.

Inscribed Stock at 3% interest (Loan to Viceroy of Wuchang) £1,143,933. 18. (Amount repaid by Viceroy at credit of Special Account £660,000, which has been advanced therefrom for Railway Construction.)
The amount paid into the Joint Sinking Funds with accrued interest reached £118,267. 68. 6d. on the 31st of December, 1911.
