There is no trea:l-mill labour, but shot-drill, crank- labour, and stone-carrying are in force.
The hours of labour throughout the year are from the 1st March to the 31st Oct her from 6.15 a.m. to 4.15 pan., and from the 1st November to the 24th February from 6.15 a.m. to 4.15 p.m., one hour being allowed for dinner. Prisaves at crank labour, full task, bave to completa 12,500 revolutions at a 12 Hbs, pressure, European and Chinese prisoners at shot-drill do 4 hours in spells of half an hour at a time, with stone- carrying or sakam-pieking in the intervals.
Tailoring, shoe-making, carpentering, grass anal coir mat making, rattan work, printing, book-binding, net making, tinsmithing, washing, cleaning, and incidental repairs to the Gaol Imiklings.
Prisoners have not been employed outside the Guol during the year.

The total amount paid into the Treasury during the an arenamt of Prison Industrial Labour was $6,439.17, of which §254,87 was for 1904, and $6,184,20 for 1905.
The average time during which the prisoners sleep is about 11 haus tu 24.
The cells are not fighted, but gas is kept burning in all passages and corridors, and the Assistant Warders on duty are provided with lamps tu throw light into the cells when required.
Assistant Warders are on duty in the Guol throngh- out the night, and patrol the corridors and jusages constantly. The patrols are visited every hour by Priucijal Wanter. The Assistant Superintendent makes one surprise visit each week after 9 ptu.
