The Government will not be responsible for damage by explosion, or by insufficient or improper packing, and as wooden packages are liable to the attacks of white ants, they should be rin-lined, and the lining should be intact.

Sanitary Inspectors who joined on and after the 1st of January, 1895, will be charged one-third of their pay (including Exchange Compensation) for the period (not exceed- ing in all three months in any one year) spent in Hospital. After that period half- pay will be deducted.

Wives of Civil Officers will be charged on the same scale,
