Voutilation is as good as p0-- sible in a ship and the cúbic space allowed to each patient is liberal. Chi emergency over 110 could be acemuniodated giving each 600 feet on upper deck and D00 on lower duck. During the summer months ventilation of the lower deck is not good owing to winds being light or absent,

• This, of course, does not include the large air-space aliye the private wards and dispensary, passages, de,

†lucluding sliding shutters above private ward».

In addition to all there is an open »pace of 4 inches between the side and nad of ship all round.
