REMARKS,
38 Members of the Force received pay for extra duties as Telephone Clerks on Government Telephones. In addition to the above pay, good conduct allowances are paid to 10 Sergeants aud men; allowances for knowledgo of the Chinese language are paid to 27 Sergeants, and 87 meu, and allowances for knowledge of the English language are paid to 4 Sorgts, and 16 men ; and Detective Allowances are paid to 3 Inspts,, 11 Sergts, and 40 men.
