The Prison is nearly all on the separate system. European and Asiatic prisoners both new and old offenders are located in soparate cells except when the total number of prisoners exceed 435.
All cell doors are provided with inspection holes through which the prisoners can be seen by the officers patrolling the wards. While at labour or oxercise the prisoners are at all times under the immediato supervision of Prison Wurders.
There are 421 colls on the separate system, and 14 associated cells of which 2 of the latter form part of the hospital.
