HONGKONG VOLUNTEER CORPS.

That Corps which existed until 1893 consisted solely of an Artillery Corps. It was not mado subject to the Army Act, and consequently was not hold to be in a military souse a rolinblo force in the event of war.

In 1893 the force was disbanded by Sir WILLIAM ROBINSON and a now Volunteer Corps was formed under Onlinance 6 of 1893, which placed the Corps under the supervision of the military authorities as in England and made it subject to the Army Act to the summo extent as the Volunteer Force in England.

The establishment of the Corps has been fixed as follows:—

1 Battery of Field (Mountain) Artillory.

3 Machino Gun Companios.

with a staff of 1 Comunandant, I Adjutant aud 2 Modical Officors,

The staff is complete, and the Field Battery and Machine Gun Company have already been formed,

i numbering respectively 65 and 48. The Field Battery has, in addition, 5 signallers and 1 Trumpoter (unenrolled boys) attached.
