XXI. What are shortly the rules as to diet?

Answers.

With the exception of debtors and first class misde- meanauts and prisoners on remand or committed for trial, all prisoners are placed on penul diet of bread (or rico) and water on two days of cach week (Saturday and Sunday) for the first six months of their imprison-

ment.

At other times, except when under punishment for Prison offences, the diet of cach prisoner is as follows:-
