In addition to the above pay, good conduct allowances are paid to 14 Sergeants and men and allowances for

knowledge of the Chinese language aro paid to 3 Inspectors, 13 Sergeants, and 69 men.

One European Sergeant receives $120 a year as Monitor in the Police School.

One Constable receives $180 a year as Ship's Carpenter.
