Under War Office Authority No. 11944, dated 7th June, 1870, the Military Contribution is paid in at the rate of Exchange current for Bills on London at sight on the day when the payment is made. The contributions for March and June Quarters, although not received for some considerable time after the tormination of those Quarters, were, nevertheless, paid in at the rates of exchange actually prevailing on the dates they respectively became due.
