In accordance with instructions received on the 5th Ultimo, I beg to forward my annual Report on the state of the Protestant Cemetery in the Mosqueur Cheong Valley, on the state of repair of Government House, the state of Furniture therein and the arrangements under which it is occupied.
The Cemetery is in good order, both the ordinary Chapel and Entrance Lodge having been put in thorough repair at the commencement of the year; reported last year the available space for graves is becoming very limited, some correspondence has taken place with the recovery of Leighton's Will with the object of converting that property into a Protestant Cemetery, but as yet nothing has been decided on.
The following Interments have been made during the year.

The smallest number of deaths recorded as having taken place in any year. The total amount of fees paid into the Treasury during the year for interments and Graves amounts to $873.32 and the award at the end of the year amounted to $67.
The Building is in an efficient state of repair, but the roof of the Preaching Room is much needed. The Lead Gutters on the roof referred to in my last Report have still to be laid as soon as scaffolding can be given up for the purpose, the Lead required has already arrived for laying.
A special Survey of the Furniture was made in May last when it was found to be generally perfect (usual addition to the list, and in good order, ordinary wear and tear excepted). Several additions to the existing Furniture are much needed. The Government House is used for the Reception Rooms on the Ground Floor, while the remainder is furnished by the Governor.
