REMARKS
(1) J. d'Almada e Castro entered Her Majesty's Service in the Office of the Chief Superintendent of British Trade in China on the 1st January 1839 and was appointed by Sir Henry Pottinger, Bart., on the 1st July 1844 to his present situation in the Colonial Secretary's Office. He holds the permanent appointment of Registrar of the Supreme and Vice Admiralty Courts during the absence of the Registrar, receiving half the salary of the office.
(2) J.M. d'Almada e Castro entered Her Majesty's Service in the Office of the Chief Superintendent of British Trade in China on the 10th July 1844, and was appointed by Sir John Davis, Bart., on the 10th July 1845 to the situation of 3rd Clerk in the Colonial Secretary's Office.
