first appointed Brione Judge in the Supreme Court (See Letters of Sir F. Rogers dated 17€ and 194 April 1862) but it was subsequently and before my leaving England, intimated to me at the Colonial office that the frost intended to be created in the Colony

Cognizance

The greater portion of the business of which the bount of Summary previmoly within the Jurisdiction of the Supreme Court, and the Interpreter and Bailiff appear to have dated their appointments as of the time when they were orginally appointed. As the ordinance under which the Count of summary Jurisdiction was established: bears date 22nd March 1862 and came into operation 7 £ July 1862. it is considered advisable to offer this explanations.
