1. General Description of the Prison:
whether Common Gaol, House of Correction, or otherwise? (To be accompanied by a Ground Plan of the Buildings, &c.)
2. Under whose jurisdiction and super- intendence; and what measures are adopted for securing the Visitation of the Prison by the Local Magistrates
or other Authorities? (A Copy of the Rules and Regulations to be for- warded with the Return.)
3. Number of Officers, and how ap- pointed? Do all the Officers reside in the Prison? Are Female Prisoners attended by Female Officers exclu- sively?

ANSWERS.
Common Gaol consisting of three detached buildings, and two wooden huts, surrounded by a Stone Wall; at the South East and Southe Wul angles, are live Towers, occnfired by a part of the Gaol Staff, Funkeys Quarters are on the North, the lower room of which building, is used as a reception Cell for Prisoners; the Garl Governor's Office and residence overlooks the Gaol Compound from the South, where is also the Debtors' Prison an incicure detached building.
Under the Governor of the Gaol, who sends - Circulars weekly, to two of the visiting. Magistralės, , or Justices of the peace in rotation:
