The arrears on the 35th December, amounted to £37. 1. 2 and a portion of this amount has already been collected, and with a few Army and Navy burials excepted, are all recoverable.
In my last annual report I had to express my regret that the original area set apart for this cemetery was becoming so crowded that its extension was absolutely necessary. I have accordingly marked out some pathways on the opposite side of the stream forming the Cemetery boundary, so as to afford access to the available portions of that district; the ground is somewhat steeper and more rocky than the present area, but I have no doubt it may be sufficient for five or six years, by that time I presume many portions of the old area may again be worked over.
Government House. I have examined the whole of Government House and its out buildings, and have to report that it is sound and in an efficient state of repair with the exception of such trifling services as must ever be demanded in a house of that magnitude, and in such a variable climate as this which is...
