Chief Magistrate by Mr W. H. Mitchell has been acting as Authority conveyed by Colonial Secretary's Letter No 4122 of 26th May 1859 since the resignation of Mr Davies on the 14th June 1839 and receives the half salary of the Chief Magistrate, and half salary of the Assistant Magistrate and under the same Authority Mr. Charles May Superintendent of Police has been acting as Assistant Magistrate, and receives half salary of the appointment and half of Salary of the Superintendent of Police.
