...which the Committee trust have been beneficial.
The Committee would take this opportunity of suggesting that encouragement be given to the establishment of Schools in the vicinity of Victoria. These can be kept under effectual supervision and teachers of English can be procured for them.
We trust that so soon as affairs of the Colony are in a more settled condition, the Government will see the expediency of fulfilling a promise, for some time held out, of erecting suitable School houses, more especially for the large Schools in Victoria and Too-kium-Poo. Such a step will not only be a benefit to the cause of Education but ultimately a saving of expense to the Government.
We also hope that some European Inspectors of Schools may be appointed in the ensuing year who may be able to devote more time to their superintendence than the present members of the Committee who have important duties of another kind to discharge.
And we would beg to express our grateful sense of the courtesy and attention with which the Government has received and, as far as possible, acted upon the suggestions we have made during the past year.
We have Signed:

Mr. J. Mag acting Colonial Secretary.
