13. Is there a Chapel in the Prison, or suitable Apartment for the perform- ance of Religious Services! How are the Prisoners separated therein?
14. What Duties are performed by the Chaplain? What Provision is made for the Instruction of the Prisoners; and are they supplied with Bibles and other suitable Books!

None.
Colonial Chaplain generally visits the European Convicts at irregular intervals of a wick on longer. The Chinese and coloured Bidoners are without any religions instruction; no books are. supplied at the public cost.

ANSWERS.
Generally fighting or attempting to escape - occasionally actaults on individuals of the Enviet. guard, or making away with or destroying the clothes provided them.

have access to the Prisoners; and, if so, at what times, and under what restrictions?
Every such application has been granted, but for a long time no visits have been paid.
21. Are any, and what Fees demanded of Debtor, or of any other Prisoners, either at their admission to, or Dis- charge from, the Gaol?

16. What Duties are performed by the Surgeon? Are separate Buildings or Apartments provided for the Sick?
The Colonial Surgeon visits the prison whin requested to do so by the failer, or when he has patients among
the prisoners. No separate building or apartinent at present.
