An Ordinance to amend the Fire Investigation Ordinance,

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Fire Investigation (Amend- Short tulle. ment) Ordinance 1980.

Section 5 of the principal Ordinance is repeated and replaced by Repeal and the following-

5. If, in the opinion of the magistrate, the investiga- Cip 10) tion does not disclose any offence or, although it discloses ao offence, does not show any reasonable cauNC for suspecting any person of having committed such offence, the magistrate shall close the inquiry.".
The principal Ordinance is amended by adding after section 6 Addison of the following new sectionS-
"Ildlease of preligije,
A. The magistrate may, at any time, if any premises have been taken into the possession of the Commissioner of Police under section 2, order the release of the premises.
