into the general revenue, be applied, audited and dealt with accordingly, and so far as it is not so applied shall be paid into the general revenue; and where the revenue so directed to be applied as an appropriation-in-aid of any vote referred to in the Schedule, exceeds in à financial year-
(a) the sum specified in the fourth column of the Schedule as the
amount to be applied to such purpose; or
(b) the sum of gross expenditure specified in the fifth column of the Schedule opposite the head of expenditme specified in the second columa of the Schedule,
the excess so realized shall be paid into the general revenue.
