As Ordinance to amend the Deposil-taking Companies Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof,
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Deposil-taking Companies Short title and (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 1979 and shall come into operation iidemate nell on the commencement of section 9 of the Deposit-taking Companies (74 st 1978.) (Amendment) Ordinance 1978.
2. Section 2(1) of the principal Ordinance is amended by inserting Ampediment of after the definition of "auditor” the following-
"*"certificate of deposit" means a document relating to money, in any currency, which has been deposited with the issuer or some other person, being a document which recognizes an obligation to pay a stated amount to bearer or la order, with or without interest, and being a document by the delivery of which, with or without endorsement, the right to receive that stated amount, with or without inforest, is transferable;”.

Section 24A of the principal Ordinance is amended—
by deleting subsection (2) and substituting the following-
"(2) The minimum bolding of specified liquid assets to be maintained by a registered deposif-taking company in any
