An Ordinance to amend the Employment Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
L This Ordinance may be cited as the Employment (Amendmcal) Short ude. Ordinance 1979.
2. Section 41A of the principal Ordinance is amended-
Anvenduti al section 41A.
(a) by deleting subsection (3) and substituting the following sub- Cap. 97.1
section-
43) The annual leave shall be granted by the employer and shall be taken by the employee within the period of 12 mouths during which that leave is required by subsection (1) to be granted on 7 consecutive days or, if the employee so requests, on 4 consecutive days, and the remaining days of annual leave, if any, shall be grunted consecutively or separately in accordance with subsection (1}"; and
(b) by deleting subsection (4) and substituting the following sub-

"(4) If a rest day or holiday falls within any period of annual leave granted in accordance with this section, it shall
