(c) where ne is of the opinion that a special procedure is neces- sary for the examination of any such food which has been imported, or where at the request of the importer he has recourse to such special procedure, direct the importer or any other person in possession of the food to provide all such facilities as may be required for the examination of the food. (1A) Any person who fails to provide facilities for the examina- tion of imported food in accordance with subsection (1Xe), after having been duly directed to do so by a public officer authorized in writing! in that behalf by the Authority, shall be guilty of an offence.".

Section 69 of the principal Ordinance is amended in subsection (i)) by deleting paragraph (4) and substituting the following-

“() during any period, not exceeding six days (exclusive of Satur

days, Sundays and public holidays), which may be reasonably required for the examination of such food or drugs; and",

5. The Sixth Schedule to the principal Ordinance is amended in thy Sloth Scbestule, first column by deleting "59(3)" and substitating the following—

6. The Ninth Schedule to the principal Ordinance in amended in the Ninch Scbedole. first column by deleting "$9(3)" and substituting the following —–

An Ordinance to amend the Corrupt and Illegal Practices Ordinance.

[28th May, 1976]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

I. This Ordinance may be cited as the Corrupt and Illegal Practices Stori due. (Amendment) Ordinance 1976.

2. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding after section 9, Addition of the following new section—

9A. Notwithstanding any rule of law or practice to the contrary, no witness shall, in any proceedings for an offence under this Part, be regarded as an accomplice by reason only of his being a party to the corrupt practice giving rise to the proceedings.".
