4. Section 17 of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting sub- section (1) and substituting the following-

5. Section 17A of the principal Ordinance is amended by inserting the following after subsection (6)—||

"(6A) All proceedings before a magistrate under this section shall be conducted in chambers.”.

financial year ending on the 31st March 1977 has been estimated at the sum of $7,211,910,000:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE II ENACTED by the Governor of Hong Kong with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Appropriation Ordinance Short due. 1976.

1. (1) A suns not exceeding $6,552,412,000, being the total sum Appropriation abown in the third column of the Schedule, shall be and the same is trom the hereby charged upon the general revenues and other funds of Hong Kong and wer for the service of the financial year commencing on the 1st April 1976, funds and ending on the 31st March 1977, and the said sum sa charged may Schedule, be expended in the manner expressed in the Schedule.
(2) The sums shown in the fourth column of the Schedule may be applied as appropriations-in-aid of the votes for the services and purposes specified in the second column of the Schedule.
