"close season", in relation to game, means the period specified as the close season in the First Schedule during which hunting of that game is prohibited:

"Director" means the Director of Agriculture and Fisheries; "game" means any wild animal specified in the First Schedule: "game licence" means a game licence issued under section 14;

"hunt" includes any act immediately directed at the killing or capture of any wild animal or the taking of any nest, eggs, or young of any wild animal;

"hunting appliance" means any act, gin, soare, poison or poisoned Weapon,

bird lime, trap or bright light;

"Licensing authority" means the licensing authority specified in section 3:

"live decoy" means a live animal intended foi use in attracting any other

animal:

"protected wild animal" means any wild animal specified to the Second

Schedule:

"special permit" means a special permit issued under section 15; "vermin" means any wild animal specified in the Third Schedule; "wild soimal"

6. (1) No person shall, unless he is the holder of a game licence, hunt any game.

(2) No person shall hunt any game during the close season.

8. No person shall have in his possession or under his control- (a) any live prolected wild animal or live game taken in Hong Kong: (b) any dead protected wild animal, or part of a protected wild

(d) any nest or egg of any protected wild animal or game taken in

10. (1) No person shall hunt in any area specified in the Fourth Huoper and Schedule.

(2) Subject to subsection (3), no person shall carry any arms in any leak area specified in the Fourth Schedule.

(3) Subsection (2) shall not apply-

13. (1) Subject to subsection (2), no person shall, except in accord- Borry do ance with a permit in writing granted by the licensing authority, enter into rouriced or be within any area specified in the Sixth Schedule during the period specified in respect thereof in that Schedule.

(2) Subsection (1) shall not apply to-

(a) a public officer on duty within any such area;

(6) a person engaged on public works within any such area; or

(3) A person who under subsection (2) lawfully enters or is within

t (1) The licensing authority may, on application made to him in Game Ucence. Form 1 of the Seventh Schedule and on payment of the fee prescribed in Seventh the Eighth Schedule, isave a game licence in Form 3 of the Seventh Schedule. Schedule.

(2) The licensing authority may require an applicant for a game licence to undergo tests as to the applicant's knowledge of the provisions of the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Schedules and bis ability to identify the wild animals specified in the First and Second Schedules.

(3) A game licance shall be valid for one year from the date on which it is issued.

(5) A person to whom a game ticence is issued shall carry the game licence with him whilst engaged in hunting, and when setting out for or returning from a hunting expedition.

(6) Notwithstanding subsection (3), a game licence may be revoked at any time by the licensing authority if the bolder of the game licence
