An Ordinance to amend the Adoption Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Adoption (Amend- ment) Ordinance 1972,

Section 25 of the principal Ordinance is repealed and replaced by the following-
"Adoption
to be
effected under the Ordinance.
25. (1) After the 31st December 1972, an adoption in Hong Kong may be effected only in accordance with this Ordinance.
(2) Subsection (1) shall not affect in any way the status or right of a person adopted in Hong Kong under Chinese law and custom before the 31st December 1972.".
