An Ordinance to amend the Merchandise Marks Ordinance.

[1st July, 1972.)

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Merchandise Marks (Amendment) Ordinance 1972 and shall come into operation on the 1st July 1972.

2. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding after section 2 the following new section-

"Special provisions Applicable to gold Ware,

ZA. (1) Without prejudice to the generality of the definition of "trade description" in section 2, a mark on any article which indicates or purports to indicate the proportion of gold contained in the article is an indication or description falling within the scope of paragraph (d) of the definition of "trade description".
