(This Note is for part of the by-laws, but is intended to indicate their general purport).
These by-laws are made under section 5(1) of the Museums Ordinance 1971 and relate to museumis situated in the urban areas of the Colony.

By-law 3 cmpowers the Urban Council to determine the times when museums shall be open to the public. By-law 4 prohibits the copying or photographing of exhibits in museums.
3. By-law S provides for the deposil of articles brought into museums and the disposal of such if they are not claimed. By-law 6 prescribes the circumstances under which a member of the public may be required to leave a museum.
4. By-law 7 provides for the prosecution of any person who wilfully damages any part of a museum or any exhibit therein. By-law & provides for the prosecution of any person who obstructs any member of the stal of a museum in the performance of his duties.
5. By-law 9 seus out certain acts which are prohibited in any museum. By-law 10 provides the penalty for contravention of by-law 4(1), 5(1) or 9.
By-law 11 provides for appeals to the Urban Council against any decision, direction or requiremeni made or given by a member of the staff of any museum.

五、附到第九款列明簿物鹼內所精止之若干行爲。不從第一款規定凡见附 例第四款第(一)段,第五款席(一)民咸第九新者所願受之處罰。
六根據附例第十一款* 任何人士如對博物館職員所作之任何決定,指示嵗 規定有所不滿者,可向市政局提出上訴。
