STAMP DUTIES MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE.

(Chapter 121).

STAMP DUTIES MANAGEMENT (FRANKING MACHINES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1971.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Stamp Duties Management Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations-

1. These regulations may be cited as the Stamp Duties Management (Franking Machines) (Amendment) Regulations 1971.

Regulation 9 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

9. The holder of a licence issued under these regulations shall, on each successive Monday (or if Monday is a general holiday, on the next working day), send to the Collector, in such form as the Collector may specify, notice of the value of the stamps impressed by means of the licensed machine during the seven days ending on the preceding Sunday.".

The Schedule to the principal regulations is amended in Note I by deleting paragraph (c) and substituting the following-

"(c) Class III-

(i) Head 3 (which specifies agreements and memoranda of agreements).

(ii) Head 4 (which specifies agreements and con- tracts for hire purchase).”.

Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, bur is intended to indicate their general purport).

Regulation 2 replaces regulation 9 of the principal regulations, with

a new regulation which will require a licenses to make weekly returns, instead of daily returns, to the Collector of the value of stamps impressed by means of the licensing machine.
