(2) If a balance of an estate paid into the Treasury or to a bank in accordance with subsection (1) cxceeds five hundred dollars, interest shall be paid thereon at the rate for the time being allowed by the Gov- ernment in respect of sums bearing Interest and deposited with The Accountant General.
238. (1) If the Official Ad- ministrator has been granted admini- stration of an estate under section 16 and-
(a) a balance of such estate exceeding five hundred dollars remains unclaimed; and
(8) the persons entitled thereto are not known to him,

(2) An advertisemeat—
(a) shall be published in Hong Kong and in any other place where the Official Administrator has reason to believe that the persons entitled to claim the balance of the estate may be found. and
(b) shall be to the effect that if no claim is made to the Oficial Administrator within Ave years from the firet publication of the advertise- ment in Hong Kong the balance from the estate will be transferred to the general revenue of the Colony.
(3) If at the expiration of a period of five years from the date of the first publication of an advertise- thent under subsection (2) the Official Administrator is of the opinion that no claim can reasonably be expected against the estate he may transfer the balance of the estate to the general revenue of the Colony.
