An Ordinance to consolidate and amend the law relating to
immigration and deportation.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
PART I
PRELIMINARY.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Immigration Ordin- ance 1971, and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.
2. (1) In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires- "alien" means a person who is not a British subject, a British
protected person or a citizen of the Republic of Ireland: "approved immigration anchorage" means a place designated as an approved immigration anchorage by order under section 60;
