Section 6 of the principal Ordinance is amended by inserting the following after" "section 5*-
"or if any such objection has been withdrawn".
Section 7 of the principal Ordinance is amended by add- ing after subsection (2) the following new subsection--
"(2A) A claim for compensation referred by the Governor in Council under paragraph (b) of subsection (3) of section 5 shall be determined by such one of the judges as the Chief Justice sball in each case nominate for the purpose.".

5. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding after sec- tion 7 the following new section 7A-
"Compensa- tion pay-
able out of
general
revenue.
TA. Any compensation awarded by a judge under section 7 shall be paid out of the general revenue of the Colony if the Crown lease is granted by the Governor in Council":

An Ordinance to amend further the Road Traffic Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Ordinance 1970.
2. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding the following new section after section 7—
"Road works to which the Streets (Alteration) Ordinance does not apply,
TA. (1) For the purposes of regulating and facilitating the movement of traffic, whether vehicular or pedestrian, the Director of Public Works may construct or maintain works other than an undertaking within the meaning of the Streets (Alteration) Ordio- ance 1970 in any road.
