STAMP ORDINANCE.

(Chapter 117).

STAMP (NEW TERRITORIES) (EXEMPTION AND MODIFICATION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1969,

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Stamp Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations-

1. These regulations may be cited as the Stamp (New Territories) (Exemption and Modification) (Amendment) Regula- Lions 1969.

Regulation 2 of the principal regulations is amended- (a) by deleting "and" in the first place where it occurs; and (b) by inserting after "inter vivor" the following-

"and conveyances or transfers operating as volun- tary dispositious inter vivos".

Regulation 3 of the principal regulations is amended-

(d) in paragraph (a), by deleting "or the instrument is a surrender of a lease or an agreement for the surrender of a lease":

(b) in paragraph (5), by deleting the full stop at the end and

substituting a colon; and

(c) by inserting a proviso at the end as follows-

"Provided that this regulation shall not apply 10 any instrument chargeable with stamp duty under subhead (4) or (5) of head 32 of the Schedule to the Ordinance."

The principal regulations are amended by deleting the Schedule and substituting the following-

For purposes of regulation 2, where the amount or value of the consideration does not exceed 52,000, no stamp duty shall be chargeable.
